Blixa Bargeld (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds/EN)

Keith Levine (early P.I.L.)

Daniel Ash (Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, Love & Rockets)

Glenn Branca

Graham Coxon

Bob Mould, Marc Bolan, Tom Verlaine, Kurt Cobain, Kevin Shields and Pete Townsend would make a complete picture, but those first 5 are my top 5 in no particular order.

Paul Gilbert - for his speed

David Gilmour - for his emotion

Eric Johnson - for his class and style

Mikael Akerfeldt - for... everything. I'm consistently blown away by him

Aaron Turner - for his composition. Simple parts, but Isis has sooo many layers

This is a difficult question. My preferences vary with the day. There are many players I respect and try to steal stuff from.

Robben Ford

Billy Gibbons

Larry Carlton

Jimi Hendrix

and others.

I know I'm a pussy but I can't narrow the list.

The Atomic Jeff is too kind. I yield to his skills.

I wish, I were younger.

Don't stop on my account.

:D

Chuck Berry

Johnny Greenwood and Thom Yorke

The Edge

Dan Auerbach

Junior Kimbrough

Ron Asheton and James Williamson

Mick Collins

Hound Dog Taylor(for his great slide tone)

Neil Young and Steven Stills

Frank Zappa

Ryan Adams

Johnny Cash

and my favorite the riff master Keith Richards

Those are my favorites and I don't play in a cover band so I don't try and sound like them. Not intentionally anyways.

Dave Gilmour - tasteful solos. Creative use of effects.

Neil Young - Love the dying amp tone and the mangled solos.

Pete Townshend - the power the stage presence. He's the guy I've ended up closest to all round.

Tom Verlaine/Richard Lloyd - The solos from Marquee Moon I have in mind all the time. As to not resort to bluesy bends and {censored}.

Ed O'Brien/Jonny Greenwood - the use of effects. Beauty and violence and atmosphere are always in my mind with my playing.

um...and The Edge, Hendrix, Angus...maybe they're on the reserve bench for this thread. Next time it's asked it'll be a different 5.

It's a Fernandes Native Pro series .... had one of those ebow pickups in the front PU position ... He doesn't play them now though but liked them as a substitute for a Tele. :thu:
