Members cfordummies
Hi, just wanted to find out if the M-102 Dyna Comp can actually serve as a replacement for those big, expensive compressor/limiter things? My goal is to get a really nice, smooth guitar recording, so is this the right thing to buy, or should I invest in one of those monsters with a thousand knobs? Thanks in advance! Members Wyatt
The DynaComp has an obvious squish to the sound. Not transparent at all. Like the Ross Compressor, it is popular because it has a signature tone and is great for getting those '70's country and country-rock tones. But, there are other pedasl I would look into in order to substitute for a studio comp; Maybe the Demeter, Carl Martin, or even that small tube ART compressor (not a pedal).
