Members fishfartz
it depends on what you want - a good way to use them is to first dial in the amp to the best tone you can find and then use the additional EQ to fine tune that even further
Members dangerous dan
You can never get enough EQ's. I use three on my rig. 1st in my chain is a dano fish and chips to boost my tele to the same level as my les pauls and SG. 2nd is another dano EQ, running post OD and fuzz to shape the sound and clean it up a bit. 3rd is a boss EQ-7 (or is it GE-7 i never remember - i'm too pissed up to go the basement and check) as a boost after my OD > EQ > delay for leads. It's all about getting the best tone from your amp and then using an EQ for a specific purpose; i.e fine tuning your amp, bringing the best out of you OD / fuzz / dist pedal, boosts for leads etc. You can even put them in the loop and turn all the amp EQ settings to 12 O'clock and use the pedal to sculpt the sound you want.
