Members squareking
I like these threads because I often get the opportunity to test out a new brand of strings I've never heard of before. I'm currently using DR 11s on my Strat and D'addario 10s on the LP.

Phil O'Keefe
Elixirs whenever possible. I know some folks don't like them, but they work great for me. I have caustic hands, and I kill other strings way too fast. I use 10's on the electrics and lights on the acoustics. Nanoweb when possible, but I'll use polyweb if I can't get nanowebs. The only things I don't have Elixirs on is my Rogue Violin bass (Rotosound flatwounds) and my Danelectro DC-12 (D'Addario nickel light ga.). I'd run Elixirs on these too if they made flatwound bass and 12 string electric sets.

Members beezdeez
Just bought some webstrings to use on my acoustic and electrics. Just got them in yesterday and I'm stringing them up today to see how they work out. 10's on the electrics and .12's on the acoustic. They seem to be an excellent deal. Everyone says that they are the same string as most manufactuers. They have free shipping when you order over $12 worth. But that free shipping took 10 days. BTW, I used D'addarios previously. I'm looking to change and possibly save some money with webstrings.

Members beezdeez
Well I just strung up my acoustic and on inspection they seem just like Martin phosphor bronze. I'm pretty sure one factory makes the basic string and companies buy wholesale and repackage. They seem a lot like D'addario also. All in all, I'm really happy with my purchase. They seem like great strings and the price was excellent. The shipping was free so I wasn't expecting lightning fast shipping. But it wasn't terribly slow. I ordered on the night of the 10th and the shipping confirmation said that the package arrived on the 19th. And there was a weekend in between that time. Members dangerous dan
I love slinkys in the 10-52 guage, but have recently tried out Electro Harmonix strings which sound really sweet, I think they have a very high nicel content, possibly higher than slinkys. Members CicadaSilence
I use an Ernie Ball 7 string set for standard tuning. I just ditch the low E string, and use the low B for that pitch. I'm switching to a set of SIT, gauges .012 to .060 for standard tuning in the near future. Ernie Ball sounds like {censored} to me, but the gauges are close enough to what I'm looking for. Members Armoredfist316
I use Elexir when i can, but if i dont have the extra money i use d'addarios But i always use Elixers on my acoustics. They seem to last forever compared to every other acoustic string ive tried.

Members Jon Hiller
I have Everly Cleartones on my acoustic. I've had them on my guitar since January and they still sound new. I've played in a local college's spring musical (along with twice weekly practice for it for a month) and a local Easter cantata with about the same amount of practice. 8 shows of the musical and 2 of the cantata. I can't believe how well these strings have worked for me. I can totally see this set of strings holding out for a year if they keep this up. Longest lasting strings I have ever used, more than twice what I got out of the last set of Elixir strings I used. I have a set of Everly Cleartones strings on one of my electrics, although I haven't had them on for long so I can't give a longevity report for them yet, and I have Everly B52 rockers (surgical steel) on my other electric.
