Yeah, about 8 years back, my covers band supported the Blues Brothers Uk at a private function, 4000 people.

I've got an Ally Pally obsession due to the 60's 24 hour Technicolor Dream gig which had Syd Barret and Bolan and just about anybody who was anybody play til dawn. What's the venue like these days?

I'm a sucker for that period too, although I was only 6 in 1968 I have some sort of deja vue.
We were in the main hall, it has a huge reception hall as well, and played the main stage, 2 sets between the meal ( it was a coporate party ). We were given a large changing room, with showers etc, in an outbuilding about 200 yards away from the hall and had to walk across a car park. The sound was pretty good, although I can only vouch for the on stage monitoring but I do have a video of it somewhere and it's ok.:p
It is a big big room.

There is an icerink behind Ally Pally these days.

But as I said, it was 8 years ago.:)

You mean you've got this far without knowing about foldback?

As long as you're nice to the sound guy and choose just the few things you really need to hear for your monitor mix (maybe lead vocal, your guitar and vocal, bass drum, snare and hi-hat), you'll be fine. The PA does the work on most gigs, not your amp.
