Members Meriphew
I'm in pursuit of a great analog phaser, though I really want it to have tap tempo, along with sounding great. What are my options? What are the best sounding phasers? Thx.

Members loofery
I just picked up a Maestro ps-1b. It's like the a version but has an added speed knob. It's vintage analog but of course doesn't have a tap tempo. But what it does have is footswitchable settings, which is hard to come by with an analog phaser. I messed with the internal pots and here's what I've come up with:Slow: Pink FloydMedium: Bridge of SighsFast: Univibe very, very cool pedal - but its BIG if you are pressed for board space .. I am not.

Anyone have one? How's it sound compared to other high end phasers?
Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
Dunno, I've been using a Boss Ph-1r for ten years and it's a tasty anlogue phaser that I've tested against others I bought and the 1r always stays on my board while the others get sold - it doesn't have tap but I don't require it. Members fatbackribs
That Cusak Tap-o-Phase should be just what you are looking for, (feature-wise.) I believe a proto of one may show up at the Chi-town Tone Fest. If you want to get famaliar with a few different styles of phase, this old thread has some phaser demo vids I made. http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1238376&highlight=phaser+vids
Members varialbender
I have no idea why tap is so important to you, but yes, the Cusack Tap-a-Phase should be the perfect fit.

Members Blungo
The only phaser i've ever completely flipped over is the Maestro PS-1A. The PS-1B looks even cooler.

Members The Lamb
I didn't try high end phasers much. But moog is so sweet to my ears. And control with my old korg exp-2 without any problems. Love it
Members plinky
fatbackribs did some great phaser demos you should check out... though admittedly none of them have tap tempo.
Members Man In space
I built a BOYC Phase 90 last week, and that's my fave now : I have a Small Stone USSR, which sounds great, but there's the volume drop, and it also seems to suck gain somehow, so on bits where you need the volume and the gain, it's not so great. The new Phase 90 by mxr has that terrible midspike. The boyc has the warmth, a slight volume rise that works perfectly in a bandsituation.
Members alteredsounds
Ibanez Phaser Tone 2 - Big blue box with white markings on (poss '70's / early '80's, total killer, sounds unlike any other phaser I've heard, nothing like the 909 phasetone's etc. Has a kind of dr q funk to it. If you see one, try it!
