Members bieke
here's my Mantis, it's the dark and mean sounding, very Doctor Who, with a whiny feedback and pulsating wobbly phase and the most outrageous self oscillating thing and a ton of settings to be had with all the sliders and push buttons ... Members bieke
I'm also a sucker for cheap guitars, and I must say I am quite pleased with my latest acquisition it's a Guyatone LG-23R
Members bieke
fills the gap between the Strat and a Tele sound, the pick-ups are really good on this guitar, loud and clear, plays well, intonation is not all that good, but still it rocks ... Members bieke
Originally posted by GuyaGuy i miss Milka. so is that just filter and fuzz? 3rd switch does what? well the fuzz is a nice one, very thick and consistent, pure the filter really adds a lot of color and texture to the fuzz, with the rocker you can control the intensity of the filter, and the third button is an autofilter mode with speed control, very nice feature, and it sounds spectacular, it really does it can do the same sounds as the Roland Funny Cat, but it's more interactive with the rocker and it can do synth like sounds with the fuzz and extreme filter setting, and the autowah is eevery cool, it can do real slow sweeps up to real fast choppy stuff, this thing kills my Guyatone Ultron hunger (for now)

Members bieke
that swiss thing is fantstic, a tonesucker but a very unique blend of fuzz and filter, it's dated 28 january 1978, low serial no, I've only seen one of these before, and I also think the fuzz was made as a standalone unit, but then it was called a distortion booster anyway, I've been tweaking the trimpots inside and managed to increase the autowah speed to the point where it gets all farty
Members bieke
I haven't been tweaking the trimpots of the the drum machine in that Guyatone guitar, but I will mess with that laterand I couldn't open the Mantis, it won't come apart, I managed to pull back the back of the housing and noticed a huge circuit inside ... but it remains a mystery I also think something might be wrong with the phaser, it is kind of weak, I don't know, very subtle, it sounds more like the wow and flutter you can get with a tape echo, actually, the Mantis sounds just like a tape echo, relatively short delay time 350msec or so. This thing is a wet dream for any true echo whore
