Members music_be#1
I just purchased a vintage Ibanez PT-909 Phaser. It has an 1/8th in. phone plug in it for the power supply. Can anyone tell me what the polarity of the plug is supposed to be?
Members andreas
1/8" (3.5mm) plugs are always tip positive. There might be the odd exception of course, but I've never seen one. As the jacks are usually not isolated (metal, with the sleeve connecting straight to the box), the sleeve will inevitably have to be negative. /Andreas

My Homebrew Germania Treble Boost pedal is negative tip. As far as I know, all Ibanez pedals have positive tips.
Members music_be#1
Thanks for the help. I can't wait to put this on my board. I tried it out with a near dead battery and it still sounded awesome.
