gilmour sources say univibe or an EMS hi-fli.

 

but imo a univibe does not cop it. that warble is rather different. i'd say it's the ultra-rare hi-fli, but i've never played one, just seen it in gilmour pictures.

 

i think Bruno has one, you can ask him about it.

yeah that one fooled me. i don't think i could get a flanger mixed up with those two though.

 

 

 

If you have a flanger and a phaser you can make them sound alike. However, at opposite ends of their spectrum there is a great difference also. With VanHalen, it's probably the hardest of any of them to tell which is which because Eddie uses both, and at times both in the same song at different points.

 

You can also get a great leslie effect with a phaser and a flanger with just a little tweaking. I don't have a univibe so I don't know what if could dial that in to sound like the other two or not.
