Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
Do you play in standard tuning or do you tune down with your band or songs ... use capo etc - what's your flavour?
Members SpectralJulian
Standard. No capos. If I need to make wierd sounding chords I turn on my ring mod.
Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
I stay in standard most of the time myself ... I have a few songs with dropped D stuff but not many - I sometimes break out the capo but I'm not overly adventurous with alternate tunings ... I ain't no Keef that's for dang sure! How the hell do you keep all that {censored} straight on stage ... I know Sonic Youth do allot of that and have to leave guitars with specific tunings sitting on stage under the lights! Members SpectralJulian
You have to be really well organized. Their roadies know the setlists and what guitars they will need and when. There roadies also go through and tune every single guitar while setting up. Since they usually go into noise jams at the ends of their songs, there are not any huge stops in sound because they can change guitars while the others are still making noise. Members protoge x
i like messing around with alternate tunings and capos. it's the easiest way to experiment with out using pedals. i like open A the best to mess around with. i can get some really weird chords out of that. Members The Friendly Ranger
Standard and maybe a dropped D when playing out. At home it's open season. I mostly use open D, Dm, E, Em, G, and DADGAD.
Members squareking
Eb standard on my Strat, standard and occasionally drop D and open E on my Paul. Open tunings galore on my 12 string acoustic.

Members BmoreTele
Mostly standard, though I do have one guitar in DADGAD.Lately I have been using a partial capo that covers only three stings - either the ADG or the DGB - it gives me an Esus or an A chord but it doesn't change the tuning of any string, so further up the keyboard I'm still in standard and can use all my usual fingerings, but the open strings that are capo'd are different. I get some nice sounds and it's fun. It's like I've got this extra long finger to do mini barre chords way far away from where I'm playing. If that makes any sense. Members GuyaGuy
standard, drop D or GGDGBE: the E string is up 3 steps, the A string down 2.
