Members NappyDugOut
I don't gig and my guitars or very specific i.e. my blues Tele and Strat and my rock PRS and Kramer. When I play a specific guitar I only use certain pedal, which is usually only one or two. So I usually don't drag out my pedalboard anymore, I just pull one or two fron one of my boards and play. So I'm thinking of getting rid of my boards and just use one or two pedals as needed.

Members murch33
I like the order and professionalism of a nice, tidy board. But for just experimenting at home and trying out different stuff, yeah... Have a jumbled mess. It can lead to new things that you maybe wouldn't have thought to try if everything was stuck down to the board in the same position all the time. Sometimes you gotta stomp on two at once. Unless you're in regular touring, gigging band with roadies handling your setup, I don't think there's much real benefit. Members preservation
at home the best is a jumbled mess. you can re-order everything, take things out/put things in at the drop of a hat. ripping stompboxes off of pedalboards is one of those gear-related things i hate. Members Lanefair
Bands take enough time soundchecking as it is without having to set up pedals, ask me for a battery and wonder why their reverse-plugged-in wah isnt working. And I'm not even a sound guy. Always make a mess at home though, especially with pedals that don't like your board. For me its the fuzz factory (too nasty) and EH pedals (too big)
