Members Redfox777
. Wow I dont know if it will cut through in a bad setting but the two of those together sure make a fun sound. . Anyone else agree?
Members Mesabooger
Yes, I agree. It was one of the first pedal combos I fell in love with. I have never really applied it in a band context though. Generally, fuzz and DMM rules.
Members Redfox777
Yeah I just got the big muff in and I am loving it. It almost nails the solo in Queens of the Stone Ages"s "Sister". To me it sounds like Josh uses more of an octavia than a straight up fuzz though. Am I wrong?
Members spaceshot
that is the godliest of all creations, so simple but so multidimensional. i would reccomend loud, clear headroom, reverb optional. Hit a chord and reach down and give the delay time a nudge /' '/ ' /' / '/'/"?WHoooooooohhohohohh/hh.h/;/h??!!
Members fakeplastic
Big Muff + DMM = Mogwai's album "Ten Rapid". Go buy it.

Members Godin73
Funny, just the other night at band practice I tried a Big Muff, for the first time in a long time. Put an Ibanez DML behind it (clear delays, but actual modulation in the delaytime) and even our singer commented on how great that sounded. Pure atmosphere. Members murch33
Mayo -> Memory Lane (w/ short modulated delays & long decay) -> Keeley DD-3 (with long analog-style delays) =
Members papa taco
Hmm...I disagree, actually. To bloody mucky. The DMM is great with clean or mild od. But fuzz or heavy distortion. Too much of a good thing, me thinks. With heavy stuff I prefer an "analog voiced" digital delay like my Danecho. taco
Members endo23
Not to stray too far from topic (for me, it's ICBM -> Memory Lane, usually), but since someone mentioned Queens of the Stone Age... My friend Maggie bought me a copy of Rated R a few months back, insisting it was the best modern rock going on right now (I don't really listen to heavy music anymore, unless it's heavy psychedelia) and there's a track on there with KILLER guitar tone: "In the Fade." Any idea what's going on for the heavy riffage there? Sounds like Muff through a cocked wah or something...
Members The Honourable MOC
I breifly tried my Big Muff into my DD20 and got some remarkably synthy tones with the dual delay function. My band's next jam is going to be a purely experimaental session so I will definately give it a whirl again. Perhaps with my DMM and DD20. Oooh that sounds fun. Dunno about the riffage, but with all the "what pedal for stoner rock" threads I'm surprised the DMM doesn't get more mention - DMM + Jacques Tubeblower has proven to be a pretty direct route to the Josh Homme lead tone. Any TS variant with a good amount of drive and flexible EQ should do the job (DMM + Bad Monkey?) (If anyone's familiar with Emmylou Harris' "Red Dirt Girl," that's actually the lead tone I went looking for - QOTSA was just next door. If anyone's not familiar with Emmylou Harris' "Red Dirt Girl," you should be. Killer tone there, too, man.)
