Members TheAtomicJeff
If it weren't for the volume drop I'd buy the TR-2 again. I don't want to spend the cash on a modded one.
Members mangojeep66
I got tired of them, but now I find myself going back to them. They're such loveable, dependable little workhorses.
Members NITEFLY182
They have a lot going for them, if they could make them all true bypass it would be great just for the sake of doing it but everything about them except for some switching issues is good, size, shape, consistent jack location etc.
Members evilbuttmuncher
my bro ran over his friends boss DS1 and all it did was break the knobs. the casing was still pretty much perfect...a few scratches and dings but still good

Members NITEFLY182
They have a look and TB would require a change to that look in addition to significant retooling and more labor. Its literally not worth it to them and most people dont care.
Members TheAtomicJeff
Best thing about Boss? Noiseless switching on/off.

If it hasn't hurt their business to NOT bow to the TB craze then why should they give a {censored} and blow money to reconfigure their entire line? smart cookies. Members GuyaGuy
Originally posted by TheAtomicJeff And affordable replacements are readily available...but I have none. i remember reading a late 90s Guitar Player interview w/ Beck (Hansen, not Jeff) where he talked about how he stopped using vintage stuff cuz it was getting so expensive. so he switched to BOSS because he knew if a pedal broke down in Topeka he could go to the local shop and pick up a replacement. EH are big but they are light weights compared to a Boss unit loaded with a 9 volt ... we might have to get Myth Busters to do the tests though to make sure! PS - Brazile v OZ tonight! Members Pigsinzen
I have been saying this for years. All one has to do to make a Boss pedal boutique is replace the cheap ass caps with better metal film ones. And other part upgrades. Makes a world of difference. Buy cheap used parts on Ebay, and about $15 worth of electronic parts and you have a great sounding boutique pedal for 1/4 the price. Not to mention a kick-ass case. It would be even cheaper for Boss to make those simple upgrades.
