PUBLIC NOTICE: I am not currently able to take orders, as I have found out that I am near having carpal tunnel syndrome. I cannot build units by hand at this time, and I am unsure when I will be able to resume building.

Thank you for your patience during this time. I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience that has caused. If anything changes, I will post here.

Truly,

David

Can you send it to me too?

I had it and they wanted to cut into my wrist which I wasn't too keen on. I left it and it has got better but it's not 100%.

BTW* I had it very bad ... and I was in a bad way - I beat it in 4 weeks and it has never come back.

There isn't really any way to avoid it other than not over working a set of tendons too much - but this never really makes itself apparent until you have done. You get warning signs with aches and whatnot but when it hits it just hits.

The only prevention is resting and not overdoing it.

Not necessarily ... it could be just a joint thing rather than a CTS thing. You may have a bit of wear and tear on your wrist joint in which case you should stop the activity in question and talk to your doc or a physio about it. You will know when CTS hits because you will have numbness in your hand and generally only in three fingers of your hand ... the tingling and numbness progresses until it's permanent and it actually becomes painful resulting in sleepless night etc.

Sounds like a joint thing to me.

Ok guys ... I'm getting quite a few requests and PM's from people who want me to send the same info I sent David which might help them in prevention or in curing CTS ... I'm going to just post my letter to David as an open letter and people can use the info from here instead of me sending multiple e-mails.

Disclaimer - It worked for me, don't blame me if it doesn't work for you. You should check with your Doctor if you have any doubts or issues. I chose to deal with this myself and this is what happened.

G'day David,

You won't know me but I am an old senior member from the ( Harmony Central Effects ) HCFX page - it was brought to my attention by another member that you may be facing carpul tunnel and I thought some info I have may be of comfort to you. I don't know what stage of the problem you are at but if you are feeling persistent numbness and tingling in 3 out of 5 fingers .... if you are losing sensation in those fingers and it's becoming painful, as it will, then your in the middle of it.

I had it in 2000 for about 6 months or more and it made my life a living hell ... I ended up doing allot of research about the problem to find ways to beat it without having to opt for surgery because I don't like hospitals basically. Bottom line I found a website with this product called flextend ... it's a glove you wear with rubber tubing that goes with a velcro strap that attaches to your upper arm. You then do a series of exercises with this glove extending your hand/hands and rebalancing and strenthening the tendons that have become weak and that are causing the pinching of the nerve in the wrist.

I had no idea when I bought it that it would work but I felt desperate and I did it anyway - I got the kit with the video tape to show how to do the exercises and within a week my symtoms had dramatically reduced - within the exact period of time that they claimed the problem would vanish it actually did! This was about 4 weeks in total. Anyway, I have no connection to the company selling flextend and I have been meaning to send them my story but I think this might be the answer your looking for.

Do a search on flextend ... if you have any questions or just need to chat about it with somebody who has been there feel free.

Best regards, Simon ( Tikirocker at HCFX )
