Members dot-dot-dot Posted June 20, 2006 Members Share Posted June 20, 2006 A lot of wahs have half-arsed bypass; in bypass mode the input jack is connected to the output directly, but the circuit is "hanging" on the signal line - the input to the wah PCB is connected to the input too. That can cause loading effects on the pickups - they have to drive the amp and the wah pedal at the same time. That can lead to a loss of volume and particularly a loss of treble.
