Well, if you're trying to get your SS amp to sound more 'tubey', you'll need a pedal with a mid emphasis IMO.

I'm doing that now: Zendrive > Tech 21 TM30LE - with about 75% of the boost/drive from the ZD and 25% from the amp's preamp. Sounds very good to me.
