Ahhhhhhh! But oh well, I shouldnt need more cables for a long time.

I ordered a total of 13 patch cables with canare gs-6, one 2' sommer speaker cable, and I decided to go high end with a 12' evidence melody cable. we'll see how it is when I get it.

Well if it doesnt have a solder joint its not going anywhere in my rig. I prefer no chance of failure to "you have to assemble it perfect"

I spent about $215 on Canare patch cables and instrument cables too, definately better than the Whirlwind instrument cables and Hosa patches that I used to use. The patches in particular were a really big improvement, more or less because the Hosas were cheap pieces of crap. It solved a leaky signal problem that I had with the FX96 analog delay, cut down on noise levels, and helped out with overall tone loss a good bit. The tone loss used to drive me nuts but now it's tolerable.....still there, but now it's not terribly obvious and I can overlook it.

but I guess $230 is worth the extra pube's worth you need to turn the treble knob up
:D

Between bad and good cables you could be looking at 90pF per metre. And isn't it obviously better not to lose the treble in the first place, rather than try to put it back in (and boost the noise) later?

90pf? under the conditions in which you would have such a number lava or anyone isn't going to help you

I'm sorry, but that sentence is totally meaningless!

Good cable: 60pF per metre

Bad cable: 150pF+ per metre

Not 1pF as you claimed.

what conditions would those be?

the difference, on a typical length stage lead is audible to most guitarists.

*most* guitarists around here haven't ever been on a stage.

.......lol, don't care!!!! Things sound better, I don't have hiss/static out the wazoo anymore, and my damned delay doesn't act all leaky and hellacious when I have it switched off. Let me be happy with my expensive cables, damnit:mad:!!!!!!!
