Members Donner
How important is the outside of your pedals? How does whats on the outside (Knobs, layout, paint, labeling) influence your enjoyment of the unit.. pictures and examples are very welcome of course...(both good a nd bad) What makes an attractive pedal for you ? Members aeroslepperin
it plays into my overall happiness. ultimately, we all know its what's on the inside that counts...but i love a total package. for me, i don't like anything too fancy / flashy....certainly subjective though. certain color combinations also catch my eye, but it's kind of an on the spot thing. Members hempathy
All I ask is it must have a sexual innuendo in the name.I would like it if a giant pink penis went from left to right, but otherwise. It could be polkadot funk yellow as long as it sounded good.
Members ZJD
I'd say it's at least semi-important to me to have my pedal look good if it also sounds good. It's kind of like wanting to get with the chick that has the looks as well as the brains.
Members Donner
Right total package - its great when the outside matches the inside ...... and its often one of t hose Ill know it when I see it things too~~~~
Members jackpotjewell
I like real simple looking ones. "Industrial" I guess would be the right way to describe it. Pedals that look like machines, or tools. Like the Klon I guess.

Members erksin
It's important to me.I rank as follows - SoundHow well it works with other components of my rigEase of useBuild qualitySizeLooksIMO - I think many builders discount how important the looks are. A totally pro looking pedal helps to sell itself, especially if the builder doesn't have clips available. In my experience, it's also been a reflection of how they tend to run their business - if they don't have the time to properly finish a pedal they usually don't have time to return phone calls or emails or provide good follow up service. They should be proud of their creation - why half-ass the finishing process? In my case, once a pedal gets up over $150 or so, it better have a decent finish on it or I have reservations about spending my money on it.I have some very nice looking boxes - Timmy, DLS, MI Audio, Axess, Fulltone.I have some decent looking boxes - CoT50 Red, MDEQ.I have some ugly boxes - Jacques, Peterson, Arion. All have serviceable finishes on them, except the Arion of course. I don't have favorite specific things, but I know what I like when I see it. I really like the burst look of some of the Lovepedals. I think all of the Catalinbreads are nice looking, in particular the Semaphore. I also dig the industrial look of the Cusacks. It's hard to pin down what's appealing to the eye. Members Narcosynthesis
On one hand the looks don't mean anything to the sound or working of the pedal (excluding switch/control placements and the like) and we buy pedals to make sounds with On the other, there is that physcological bit in your head that means that however good a unit, if it don't look nice to you you won't (subconciously) hear it as well, an audio placebo type of effect if you like So it does make a difference, though technically speaking it shouldn't, and it does also say something about the builder and their professionalism and approach, a very tidily nicely finished pedal will be much more likely to be done neatly and properly inside, seeing a scrappy outside makes you wander if he put any more effort into the insides, not and audio thing, but road worthiness David

Nice At first I didn't like the phaser, but after messing with it a bunch (and putting it before my od's) it's the one moog I would keep if I could only use one.
