my amp is totally clean. it's a selmer. so i use pedals.

low-gain:
- zendrive
- scod

high-gain:
- stampede distortion

solos and so on:
- top fuel
- mayo

crazy crazy feedback and growling and nintendo-like tunes:
black pearl dist -> top fuel -> mayo -> icbm
all on at the same time.. the weirdest thing you could ever do i think.. :freak:

EDIT: what do you use??

I run my tube amps pretty clean and I use a bunch of dirt stomps - lately the chain has been Keeley/Ibanez TS-9>Digitech Screamin' Blues>MIJ Box SD-1>Keeley Ibanez DS-1 SEM>MJM Foxey Fuzz. I never cascade more than two dirt boxes at a time.

How's the scod for low gain? From what I hear around here people like it higher gain..

I use a Fender redknob Super 112 clean, warm up the cleans with a J. Everman Fuzzdrive G2 (terrific pedal btw, sounds like its part of the amp). Looking for mid/high gain pedals, the tubefactor I have doesn't really fit this amp, anyone with any ideas?

I run my ladipo pride & joy on low gain into the clean channel of a fender concert pro tubes 112 just as it's breaking up. That's my rhythm tone.

For my lead tone (which i'm not happy with) i switch to the amps 2nd gain channel at about half gain. But soon i will have a fuzz factory for lead:thu:

At band levels, my Cornell Romany starts to clip a little, so it will do bluesy break up and Futureheads-style clean-but-ballsy sounds. This is what my Twin didn't do- it was a little too clean and polite, except at ear-splitting volume. I still need my Valvetone for proper overdrive. By the time the band broke up, I had started running the Romany in stereo with an Epiphone Valve Junior, which can be made to distort at fairly reasonable levels, which made the Valvetone a little redundant, except for lead boost.

Solos usually involve the Zoom Power Drive or the Ultra Fuzz.

These amps set clean/verge of break-up:

With these in front for OD tones:

The CoT50 Red and Timmy each do different flavors of low-gain OD, the Blue Boy handles the medium grind. Combinations give me everything I need and the voicings are similar enough to make gain changes pretty seamless, soundwise. The MDEQ adds mids and a little grit when I want it.

bedroom volumes I use a the ts808 side of my jekyll and hyde at about 9 o'clock on the drive knob and low volume

at gigging volumes my bandmaster starts to overdrive at 6 and I boost it a little with the jekyll and hyde for a thicker drive.

it's a great sound. someone said it's like neil young style overdrive... i think that's it.. if your amp supports the sound, too.

of course also great for high-gain, but i have other pedals that can do that. ;)

I run my amp totally clean.

This my main dirty box...

I use this for light gain like a slightly breaking up tube amp, works well...

and this with the octave off as a boost over the Supra Distortion, incredible sound..
