I have heard the sound comparisons and they are just too similar to spend the cash. Buying a used MIK version or even a new one and sending it to analog man will def' make it sound cooler. For the record..I totally disagree with you..

Members mrbluetone
I have a Silver Screw DS-1 and it has more distortion than a Keeley Ultra or SEM which I have too. It is a smoother type of Distortion...now it won't clean up as well as an Ultra Mod, nor does it have the volume of the Ultra..but it is a lot of fun and you can play fast and it really comes through, even when dimed. I think you will enjoy it and you can always boost it a bit for more volume.
