Members The Tone Snob
I see it's gotten great reviews thus far. Can it get Big Muff type tones as well as more defined, articulate metal type stuff?
Members YourHerodDGC
J mascis' soundclip on the EHX website sounded like something i could get with a normal muff.
Members FLYING V 83
Had one, sold it after 2 gigs. Doesn't do the standard Muff sound at all IMO, and has a very limited eq section. Thought it would end my "metal pedal" search but it didn't. I sold it off quickly with no regrets.
Members spaceshot
as for big muff sounds it has the gain and sustain of a bigmuff but it sounds to me closer to the EH graphic fuzz. I've only played it through clean amps with ample headroom and I found the tone controls work quite well. But I like mids so I don't scoop 'em or go for a metal sound. The boost is nice to add a different texture but its not a plain "make this sound but louder" boost it imparts its own tone and changes the character of the fuzz to a more frenetic sound. By the way I saw Geen Milk from the Planet Orange and their guitarist used a metal muff the whole set and it sounded absolutely fantastic. I bought one the next day.
