Members purefender07
Starting to reconsider purchasing a Maneco 1) Elite is so expensive, I don't trust Western Union to ship 2) I really want an Eko Filter but have heard from people here on HC that it doesn't do well with OVERDUBBING and only does the simplist overdubbing. All I want is to use this to record/play/overdub effects/sounds/wall of sounds/clipping echos. I'm now looking at the 2880 and the Echoplex. Any other ideas? (I have ruled out pretty much all the others, Boss's, Akai, Boomerang, ect) What do you like more, the 2880 or the Echoplex? I'm basically looking for the looper that has the PUREST sound and doesn't sound so damn digital like the JamMan (hated it). I am going down to the music store tomorrow to A/B the LoopJunky vs. the 2880 just to see the sound. The loopjunky would be great but 16 secs is not enough. The 2880 sounds like it handles overdubbing well. I'm just curious about the sound. The most important thing for me is SOUND!
Members Wilbo26
Just realize the 2880 needs a separate floor pedal to operate like a normal looper.

Yep...... Supposedly the 16 Second footpedal works too with it.
Members endo23
WHOA, who told you the Filter Eko doesn't overdub well? I'm on the list for one and that's a pretty essential feature for me. I thought it was the same as the standard Manecolooper, but with additional filtering options... ?

PUREST isn't the kind of word i'd use to describe the lo-fi loop junky. it's designed to degrade and manipulate the sound of the loop so severely that you can easily distinguish it from your direct guitar. No first hand knowledge here, but I have read the same thing.

Members purefender07
Endo: From member TaronKeim: -TJKI have a Filter Eko 2... love it as a tap-tempo delay and as a single looper to feed through its built in filters and reverse it... doesn't lend itself to overdubbing well at ALL. Sounds great... is easy to use... lots of options for distorting single looped stuff... is ALMOST useless for anything but the most simple overdubbing. From my post: Electro-Harmonix 2880 vs. Manecoloopers
Members purefender07
Anyone actually have suggestions? 2880? Echoplex? Something else? Just looking to overdub sounds? The huge plus for me with the 2880 is that I save money. I am going to the store to try it out.

Members slc_dan
I would recommend the dl4, with out a doubt it is the most user friendly. It also sounds nice, I use mine soley for looping. don't ask me though, when someone says something sounds too "digital" I just I just don't understand that. Members endo23
fender, I don't recall why you ruled out the 'rang. I have one and it does everything listed above, except for "clipping echos" -- don't know what you mean by that...

Members endo23
Huh. Plug into a Memory Man, then plug into a DD-5... The difference is impossible to miss.

But that's nothing to do with one being digital and the other analogue.
