Worldwide matey, shipped on me, from Northern Ireland incidentally, which makes a UK/Euro winner fine by me!

Good luck.

I don't insist at all. If you're confident it won't be nil-nil after 120 minutes, then you do not have to predict their result in order to pick a number. It's merely a contingency plan for worse case scenario.

44 is indeed long gone Mitch!

Also, your penalty prediction ends at 1-0 France, but each team still has one of their five spot kicks remaining... :( Then what happens? Good grief man, it's the World Cup Final we're discussing here, show some respect!

:D:p:thu:

We shouldn't really be helping your chances of winning anyway, if anyone doesn't need another of Sean's boxes, surely it's got to be you!

Nope that's gone too, if you weren't a god damn cornerstone of this community, Gainster, I'd put you over my knee for ignoring the first post in this thread!

Update: These are the numbers already taken in the order they were selected. The list correct (I hope) at the time of editing...

17, 36, 33, 63, 29, 12, 56, 88, 22, 68, 26, 23, 30, 42, 77, 10, 60, 43, 41,
44,
57, 34, 83, 37, 48, 50, 32, 27, 72, 103, 54, 28, 73, 64, 39, 61, 100, 53, 16,
46,
14, 58, 24, 66, 47, 45, 9, 11, 5.

It's your sole responsibilty to ensure the number you choose hasn't already been claimed, first forumite to call it, owns it. Enjoy!

Nice one, you're in!

You still won't win if it goes to penalties  but should a late goal settle what will have been a tense, if not tedious nil-nil draw, you're in with a chance.

How is it that you guys can follow the NFL, a sport with thirty players on each team that requires more referees than the Royal Rumble, while the simplest, purest and greatest game on Earth just passes you by?

The NFL is intresting. :p

Also
...if you fall down and play like you are hurt...you get the {censored} beat out of you by your own team!!!

Interesting to who exactly?

I'll give you the second one though, that has been a dark cloud at this World Cup. :(

However, I can't imagine how anyone playing in the NFL could get hurt underneath all that padding! Do they ever have injuries beyond chaffing and foam allergies? :p

I'll restrain my answer till the 37th minute passes.:D

Nah,I can't say why soccer does not catch on in the U.S. Maybe a World Cup every year would keep it from drifting to the back burner.
Somehow, freakin Nascar has become as popular as the NFL in the U.S. Maybe we just need the chance of death or getting mamed to hold our attention.

Good luck all with their picks, and Thanks Teahead.

As a hold over, you could check out MLS. It's not quite as good as watching the World Cup, but its decent. If you get the channels (I know they have them on Dish Network), you could also watch the Premiership.

Thanks, but no hold-over needed here. Most sports lately have bored the hell out of me.I'm with the majority of U.S. forumers here who are,as Teahead put it:

How many American HCFX'ers will be awaiting first blood in the final with more of an interest in how it settles the giveaway than how it affects the game?
:D

Go 37th minute! :D

Just over fifty forumites have entered thus far, I'm keen to see if someone has guessed correctly. I'd also love to count how many US entrants there are compared with the Rest of The World, but I couldn't be arsed counting them myself to find out.

Two lone, brave little ('Merkin?) fellas have had the jacobs to choose extra-time, good on you boys, if indeed you knew you were choosing extra time?

Perhaps their courage is to be rewarded?

Or did they make their choice unwittingly?

Which leaves them now thinking to themselves...

"What's extra-time?"
