Members Teahead
Congratulations To Godin73! The forumite who guessed closest to the 7th minute opening goal time and winner of the World Cup Final Lovepedal Raffle. Thanks to everyone who had a go, it's been a pleasure! This is a Lovepedal Pocket Fuzz something or other, small but packing huge punch with plenty of gain and an excellent responsiveness to tone and volume changes at the guitar. Soon it could be yours. It was actually a free gift, Sean simply gave it to me when I inquired about buying one from him a couple of years back. Strange way to do business, huh? He's a great guy to deal with in my experience, so it's time to share the Love. Here are the proposed rules, number 4 no longer applies as the contest is now open, but be sure to read all of the others carefully, especially numbers 5, 5.1 and 7, rather than shooting off half cocked and showing yourself up... 1. Entrants must either have been a member for longer than one year, or have 50 posts or more to their name. 2. To enter the 'raffle' entrants should nominate only ONE NUMBER between 1 and 124, this should be the actual minute in which they believe the first goal will be scored in the World Cup Final match between Italy & France this Sunday evening. 3. Number Choices Will Be First Come First Served, your entry should be posted below in this thread. However... 4. Entries MUST NOT be placed before the 3rd/4th place Germany/Portugal game kicks off this evening. This is just to allow a little time for forumites to suggest any improvements or adjustments to the proposed rules. 5. Entries MUST NOT be placed after the Italy/France Final kicks off. To clarify, a 23 hour window for entries will be open from tonight's 3rd/4th place kick off, until the Final itself kicks off. Entries posted outside of this window are void... wait for and play only until the whistle! 5.1 Should the goal ocurr during an unchosen minute, the prize shall go to the entrant who makes the closest choice which does not exceed the time of the first goal, you go over and you're bust. 6. In the event of no goal being scored after extra time, the prize will be awarded to whoever was first to post the most spookily accurate predictions concerning the penalty shoot out. Such predictions should refer to the actual sequence of goals and misses that will take place, like so... "O" represents a goal and "X" represents failure to score... Italy=OOXOO France=OOXOX Result=4-3 to Italy. Note that you DO NOT have to predict the result of penalties to enter the raffle. You simply need to choose ONE NUMBER between 1 & 124. The penalty predictions are merely intended as a solution to a nil-nil final. 7. My decision, informed as it will be from the worldwide television broadcast, is final. Update: These are the numbers already taken in the order they were selected. The list is correct (I hope) according to the time of editing... 17, 36, 33, 63, 29, 12, 56, 88, 22, 68, 26, 23, 30, 42, 77, 10, 60, 43, 41, 44, 57, 34, 83, 37, 48, 50, 32, 27, 72, 103, 54, 28, 73, 64, 39, 61, 100, 53, 16, 46, 14, 58, 24, 66, 47, 45, 9, 11, 5, 89, 59, 74, 49, 51, 67, 81, 38. It's your sole responsibilty to ensure the number you choose hasn't already been claimed, first forumite to call it, owns it. Enjoy!

Since I got it given to me, I figure the right thing to do is pass it on to someone else, in the interest of karma and all.I've just had an hour or so running it into the Vox and it really does the business, raw, aggressive bite that works great with single coils. The clean up sounds are most pleasing too.

Yes, that's a great point, numbers should indeed be posted in this thread, after tonight's game kicks off. Originally posted by Headlow Will the winner have to pay postage? What kind of raffle organiser do you take me for? Postage is on me of course, anywhere in the world, except Portugal, bastards!Joke! The UK Media are turning me against them! Members Teahead
You misunderstand me, Lifetimer! It was only a joke concerning the anti-Portuguese movement as witnessed in the UK press since the game. Personally I rather enjoyed seeing your team turning over those English pansies. With the benefit of hindsight, perhaps what I said would seem hostile to any Portuguese forumites. Or others outside of the UK, who haven't been exposed to the nonsense we have, boycotting Sardines for example? I heard that suggestion on the radio today! My sincere apologies if you perceived genuine meaning from my words. Like I said in small text, only a joke my friend.I wish you folks all the very best for the 3rd/4th place game tonight. After all, I do stand to win money if they win during extra time, or if Ricardo saves a penalty in the 90 minutes.

Except of course we actually use our feet, we shoot under the bar and play for longer than thirty seconds at a time without layers of protection that would make Knights in jousting armour look underdressed. Also, our "World" tournament actually is inclusive of the entire planet!

Members Teahead
You know what they say about the early bird? Incidentally, this probably isn't necessary, but I feel compelled to point out that 0:00 to 0:59 on the match clock would be the first minute, or 1 for our purposes. As a further example, Mr. Poopsicle's guess of "29" would be sucessful in the event of the first goal arriving between 28:00 & 28:59 as he picked the 29th minute of play.Carry on!
