I have an old Electrix repeater which only get's occaisional ussage these days, but find myself g.a.s.ing hard for an E.H. 2880.

Does anyone have experience with the Repeater and the 2880 that could sway me one way or the other? I would definately be getting the footswitch if I get a 2880. I was using an old digitech 3-button switch with the Repeater, but held off on getting a midi controller for stomping it's full live potential.

and for the easily amused that could really not care less about loopers:

ya, better do it quick as I have heard rumors that a new repeater is going to be released/shown soon at NAMM  Do a search on the KSS forum I think that is where the link is IIRC ;)

I bought one at GC for a few hundred bucks. I thought I'd use it all the time. Never used it - didn't even power it up. I sold it on ebay for about $1k. I love the Electrix stuff though. I still have my Mo-Fx and my Filter Factory and use the hell out of both.

The Electrix stuff is surrounded by rumors. the website came back last year with promises of a whole new line of products. None have showed up and the last time I checked the website the most recent post from the company was March 2005.

oh and it's the EHX 2880.

But back to your initial question - in typical HCEF style I would recommend something else entirely.

The "coming soon" Boomerang (3?) sounds like a good possibility.

"It will be 2/3 the size of the Rang, less expensive and WAY more powerful:

superb audio specs, super low noise floor, long record time, true stereo, multi level undo/redo, more loops, and a slew of different utility features such as a built in octave down effect for creating bass lines and a metronome with volume control."

supposed to be at summer NAMM.
