Members omor
button bolts dont need to come out you need to pop the knobs off, they come straight off with force
Members Arjae
Did you unscrew the metal stand-off? It is in the middle (from left to right) but towards one of the edges. After that, yank on the knobs from the outside like there is no tomorrow.
Members inscho
yeah unscrew all the screws, the hex bolt, the nuts around the jacks and then finally pull off the knobs (they are a bitch) get some needle-nose pliers and a cloth.
Members danbomb
You need to pull the knobs. I use pliers with duct tape on the jaws. The easiest way is to grap them hard and rock them back and forth gently.

Members danbomb
Looking back the actuators on the switches seems like a bad idea. We have added new hardware to keep everything in place on the newer units and they seem more reliable. A standard switch could also unscrew over time and fall apart. Members gregovertone
a ha! that silver post was very stuck in there, i thought it was a permanent fixture.... got that out, as well as the knobs....and it came out. i appreciate it guys! i usually tighten the nuts down on the top, but i forgot to do it to one recently, and the damn switch fell out, along w/ the inner nut coming undone. pain in the ass.
