I am pretty sure he used a Linn LM-1 on "Talking Back to the Night" in '82, but if you listen on Arc, the drums sound so passable as real but I have a feeling they were not... anyone shed any light on this? Members Meatball Fulton
Steve Winwood has played drums on his records as far back as his days with Traffic. He's also an excellent guitarist and bassist. I'm pretty sure that's live drums on Arc though it's been quite a while since I've listened to it. It came out in 1981....was the Linn Drum out yet? Members mikael488
I did some research and it seems Arcwas released in late Dec 1980 or early Jan 1981. This would suggest that the music was recorded in Oct or Nov '80 at the latest. The Linn Drum (aka LM-2) was not available at that time (it came out in 1982) but the Linn LM-1 was.
