Members SonnyBlack
yep, I remember getting the ad in the mail and seeing KOmplete 3 for $499. I immediatelly went from point a (my house) to point b(the bank) to point c (guitar center). Man, I couldnt believe what a deal I got, that is until I saw Komplete 4 make its welcome a couple of months later. Yes, I think GC, knows about stuff that the common consumer has no idea about (soon to be discontinued items, new items coming out in NAMM, etc). Hell, I bet they even know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried...

Members valomatic
I'm pretty sure something is around the corner from Alesis. However, I still think the $500 keyboard plus studio monitors was too good of a deal to pass up.

Members TheFoosa
People who bought it (or have seen it at this price): Is this only applicable to floor models? I have one on hold for me that was a floor model, it was the only one they had. I'm just wondering if there's even MORE possible fluctuation in price. If they're selling them in the box at $500 I think I could talk down a floor model a little bit.Not that $500 is anywhere near a bad price for this. $500 is the reason I have one on hold...that's unbelievable. And with monitors too. (In 12-16 weeks. )
Members Diametro
BTW, I bought a floor model and haven't had any problems with it (and it was cosmetically perfect) ... on the other hand, I was able to see and demo the board in person before comitting ... I'd NEVER do that for an unseen floor model (plus, I pretty much knew this board was seeing zero action on the floor.)Monitors and a Fusion for $500 and you have the means and desire to acquire it ... ???actually, that picture is supposed to represent "blessings given," but with the added lens flare, it looks like he's flipping the bird ...happy hunting ... (In 12-16 weeks. ) I ended up not buying one but I talked to 3 different GC stores in my area today and they said all Fusions - boxed and/or floor models were available at the fire sale price. The sales droid at one GC told me that Alesis was continuing the Fusion but GC was "not going to carry the Fusions any longer". A droid at another store said that the Fusion is being discontinued altogether.

Members Mike Conway
I just got back from Guitar Center. I had the cash and was ready to buy, but the store in Las Vegas is out of Fusions. Yes, the $499 is for any 61 in stock, in a box or on the floor. The salesman said the Phoenix store had one demo model left and he could get that. I passed, because I would want to see it, before buying. They also had SH 201s for $459. What's with all these half decent boards, for under 5 bills? I still can't believe that price on the Alesis, though. Every 6 months, the price halves itself!even if Alesis drops the Fusion, that doesn't mean they wouldn't continue to update the OS and feature-set (even at a reasonable cost). But that might be delusional thinking. From the fusionzone:"at this point we are not creating new features for the Fusion. Of course we will endeavor to fix any bugs that pop up. Members XorAxAx
What we need are inside agents. I mean, the Apple fanboys have good sources within Apple. Why can't synth fanboys have inside sources at synth companies? If I knew that the Fusion line was done for good I would probably buy at this price. Members Tusks
I habe no inside knowledge. But it seems to me that Alesis put some very really good capabilities inside a package that wasn't well received. They were looking for a replacement for the QS series. So I wouldn't be surprised if a slightly more basic rompler emerges with more generic styling and the option of adding some of the stuff that is in the Fusion currently. (improved and bug free). It would be similar to Yamaha ... testing the market with the EX boards and then consolidating market position with the Motif. Jerry
Members SaltyDogg
Hey Guys, This has relit my Fusion GAS seriously. And we all know GAS lighting can result in explosions. Any idea what the 8HD is going for? I don't have a sampler... do you think the Fusion is worth it for the sampler and DAW abilities alone? Like if you are moving to an apartment thats smaller and need to minimize your set-up? How much do the monitors usually go for alone? I have rockit monitors so I might sell those if I can get a pair for free.
Members mate_stubb
I just called a GC and ordered one. He had to call Alesis to verify that they would still ship him one. I did get the $499 price. Edit: I just looked at the fine print on the free monitor rebate form. The claim has to be submitted by Jan 7. If I don't have a serial number by then, I may miss out. Oh well, I still think the board alone is a great deal at $500.
Members Crawling Wind
Man, I'm getting gassy about this deal. Must...hold on...looks like a car dashboard...don't really need...got plenty already ... HELP!!!
Members SaltyDogg
This is my only minor gripe: The 8HD is only different from the 6HD by the keyboard right? Same engine and capabilities... I wish it were proportionally marked down. Surely the weighted keys (which I have played and are good but not piano-substitute good) are not worth the same price as the body and bulk of the Fusion. Know what I mean? 500 vs. 1000 is what I'm referencing btw Edit: whats the conscensus on Floor models? 900 for a 8hd is what I'm contemplating
Members blakeq
Thanks to the original person who started this thread for the hookup. Just got back from Guitar Center and walked out with the Fusion 6 for $500. They didn't have any in stock other than the floor model, but it still had plastic on the display and looked minty so I couldn't resist. Tried to get it for $450, but the guy wouldn't budge. When I talked to him, he said that since the other stores only had no more than one each, that he couldn't get another one ordered. This was at Clackamas (Portland, OR) and the other store nearby (Beaverton)didn't have any remaining. I'm not sure if that was the guy trying to make a sale or what, but take it for what it's worth...
Members Diametro
Edit: whats the conscensus on Floor models? 900 for a 8hd is what I'm contemplating see it, play it, hear it, look for signs of abuse ... turn the knobs ... press ALL the buttons ... if it works now, it will probably continue to work ... I bought a Fusion 6HD as a floor model about five months ago ... everything's fine beside the thought of Sizzlemeister and his dirty fingers defiling it ... (at least he didn't know I was going to buy it at the time ... )
