Members Diametro
Yamaha Motif XS6 Profile: -- 61-touch sensitive keys -- New UI with large color LCD and 8 knobs and sliders -- Xpanded Articulation Synth engine with 355MB of WAVE ROM -- Studio-style mixing environment with Virtual Circuitry Modeling effects -- 4 intelligent arpeggiators with instant Performance Recording -- Integrated Sampling Sequencer with 1GB of optional memory Total Computer Integration and Cubase AI software included "The Yamaha Motif XS6 synthesizer features Xpanded Articulation sounds that will inspire your creativity, and Performance Recording with 4 intelligent arpeggiators instantly captures your ideas. The new large color LCD is an attractive addition to the Yamaha Motif series. The Motif XS6 also has an Integrated Sampling Sequencer with studio-style mixing and VCM effects that let you create complete MIDI/audio productions. With computer connectivity and Cubase AI software you can expand your musical possibilities. " .. . . .. The expanded controls are welcome, but it's not exactly the "next generation" workstation many had hoped for ... just enough, I suppose, for Yamaha to stay competitive in the current field. (I think the Big Three coordinate the release of their workstations; or it sure seems like it ... ) Next up, Korg ...

Members MartinHines
Unless someone went to A LOT of effort to create a realistically looking webstore, there are FOUR NEW YAMAHA products listed: [Note: These may be LIST prices, so I wouldn't worry about the price right now] $ 3,999 -- Yamaha Motif XS8 (available April 2007): http://www.andysmusiconline.com/products/yamaha-motif-xs8.html $ 3,539 -- Yamaha Motif XS7 (available April 2007): http://www.andysmusiconline.com/products/yamaha-motif-xs7.html $ 2,799 -- Yamaha Motif XS6 (available April 2007): http://www.andysmusiconline.com/products/yamaha-motif-xs6.html Here is the large photo of the XS7: Finally, the Yamaha "Mini Mo": $ 699 -- Yamaha MM6 Mini Mo (available January 2007): http://www.andysmusiconline.com/products/yamaha-mm6.html Photo of the Mini Mo:

The MotifXS is a reasonable upgrade from the Motif ES:-- 355 MB of Sound ROM vs. Motif ES' 175 MB-- Color LCD display vs. Motif ES tiny monocrome display-- 4 arpeggiators vs. Motif ES single arpeggiator (I think)-- hopefully excellent computer integration with Cubase; the info states "Cubase AI software included" (whatever that is). Those prices listed in that website might be LIST prices, especially given the current Motif ES MAP prices:-- $2,600 -- Motif ES8-- $2,400 -- Motif ES7-- $1,700 -- Motif ES6
Members Son of HuHefner
I think its amusing that Andys Music of Mobile, Alabama has scooped the new 2007 ES Motif lineup I wonder if there wasn't a little slipup on timing
Members orangefunk
It could be the new viral marketing strategy... whereby information is leaked slowly and passed to others for maximum effect... I doubt it though April is a long time off though... even then the prices will be close to the high end prices. Will be interesting to see the first demos... Members jpapas
Here's a quote from a reputable dealer in LA: "I already know Yamaha is replacing the MotifES series with new ones. A larger and full color screen and twice the amount of wave rom. Price will be a little higher.Yamaha is also coming out with a small, light weight keyboard that will have motif quality sounds and be under $600.00.Some new low end replacements for their PSR models but no new higher end arrangers until probably June Summer NAMM. PSR3000 and Tyros2 are still current models." I read this @ the synthzone forum. This is the guy's website http://www.kayesmusicscene.com
