Members comfortablynumb
I'm just going by what I can remember from that pedalboard pic that was posted here recently. I don't recall seeing any other phasers but the Moog.
Members freeridstylee
Yea, and god knows what he's got going in the studio, i'm sure theres overdubs, and it's probably a stereo phaser. Guitar geek has a phase 90 for him, but that was 2002.

Members ReniMani2
The November Guitar Player had a huge cover story on Frusciante's overdubs on the new disc. According to the man, he used an 'Analogue Systems Phase Shifter' in the studio for the solo which, "unlike a typical phase shifter has a really wide range, as well as a Resonance control." For live duties, his massive pedalboard(it's ridiculous! ) has a Moog MF-103 12-Stage Phaser for emulating the Analogue Systems unit. Regarding recording the solo, he says "I played the original solo when we recorded the basic tracks, and then doubled it later, except for the super-fast wah part at the end, which was too difficult to double perfectly, so I put that section through a Delta Labs Effectron II digital delay set to a quick delay with just a touch of slow modulation." Whew! Answer your question?

Members 88mm
I remember hearing him say that Eddie Kramer came over and help with some of the phasing. Like some old school Studio tricks.

Members ReniMani2
I think John even said that the first 3 note riff that repeated in the solo is lifted from 'Purple Haze'. As for the chorus, the interview says that he "double the guitar parts, which were played using a Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion pedal". Regarding the Eddie Kramer tape phasing: "Also, Eddie Kramer came in and showed our engineer how to do '60's-style tape phasing, which we used on an early mix, and we wound up splicing a section of that mix into the part transitioning out of the chorus." Really good aticle with great depth on all his recording techniques.
