Members TheAtomicJeff
Anything good at the other ones? It's been awhile since I went to this one. They've remodeled by removing the good boutique amp room altogether and distributing that stuff throughout the store. That sucks without an isolation booth for those items. Now in it's place is more room for various pedals and cases.
Members hbar
The plano one has a few ehx pedals (including that POG still priced @ $439), The LBJ store didn't have much worth mentioning. I talked with the guy in charge of fx at the store near Lovers. He's been bringing some boutique stuff in sideways. He said he has 9 zvex pedals coming, including the BOR. I work right across 75, so I'll be certain to check that out.

Members shepherdspy
Originally posted by TheAtomicJeff Now I understand. Hey Jeff, did you like the amp? Could you give a quick review, like how it compares to the JSX.
Members TheAtomicJeff
Compare it to a JSX? Hmm... how would I do this...About the only way I could compare would be to say that the Nomad might be somewhat drier and less compressed sounding. And $400 more expensive. I don't know how much of that tone was solely the amp amp vs. it being played through the Mesa 4x12 cab I used with it. The Nomads's clean channel was more chimey than the JSX, which is not chimey at all. You can break up the Nomad's clean channel but you can't the JSX. I wouldn't necessarily trade my JSX for it and it probably wouldn't be my next choice of amp if money were no object but I can certainly see why a player would chose a Nomad. If I could own four amps (I have two), the Nomad head would probably be added to my stable.

Members bbrunskill
Its an interest thing, opinion! I played a Nomad 4x10 a while ago and just hated it. I just couldn't get it to sound good. The guy who owns it has awful tone (LP into Nomad) and I think it's not just his bad playing. . . .
