Members BandofThievesâ„¢
OK I don't want to start a Comp War.Just have a few simple questions.. If I already have an Analogman Bicomp(which isn't going anywhere) would I be able to justify buying the Janglebox?? Already have Boss Keeley Maxon Fender RMC MXR Valley people and DBX comps.. THanks,Keith

Members archimedes
i havent owned many comps but ive played them enough to know that the janglebox is different than most. i think the most important thing is the treble booster circuit built in but you could recreate that with a comp and treble booster circuit. but at the same time, to my ears the janglebox doesnt pump and breath like other compressors do and honestly it isnt very versatile at all. its pretty much one sound but that is what it was designed to do. i love mine and it does exactly what i want. makes my casino sound like john lennon and my 12 string sound like roger mcguinn... Members MrMunky
I had a Janglebox for a while. You can get a lot of the Jangle that the JB produces from the Ross side of your bi-comp. Try turning the attack control all the way clockwise, and the sustain all the way clockwise. Start from there. Especially effective with low output pickups, ala a Rickenbacker. Members gil1
I had a Janglebox for a while. The brighter, Jangle setting is veery nice, and unique. I haven't found anything that quite does that. The thing is, it alows you to play bright rythem, with out getting the "chich' type attack noise at the front of your playing. It is nice. But at every other setting, I just thought it was "eh" muddy, blobby, just not usefull at the other toggle settings. I returned it, held on to my Keeley. If you really want that one thing it does, it's great. I got close by doing a bass rolloff (instead of boosting treble, which is often at the mercy of the knee of the EQ) McGuine had a bass rolloff on his guitars.
