Members Fast Frets
You might check Smallbear . From what you've decribed, I am not sure if it's a pot or a switch. Or one of those combination ganged pots and switches. :) :)
Members PartyPooper
i pretty much checked everywhere i could think. what i mean is its a rotary pot but instead of going from 1 to 10, it clicks in to 1 of 4 pre-settings. kinda hard to explain. just think the "mode" knob on a Boss DD-2 or DD-3. Members i51423
So.. a rotary switch?
Members bleepedybloops
Maybe maybe not some of those Mode switches are actually pots where each notch is a set resistance and that resistance controls some sort of electronic switch
Members W.A.S.
I assume you mean a rotary switch but what are you planning on using it for?
Members PartyPooper
i need it as a replacement for the Boss DD-2s "mode" pot. i think bleppitybloops has got it right.
Members vigor&kandor
a switch and a pot are two different things my friend. what you are describing is a rotary switch, which doesn't have much similarity to a potentiometer.
Members bleepedybloops
see my post above. I am pretty sure they use pots for the mode switch in some of the shifter pedals. I read this from someone who took apart a PS2/3/5 I cant remember which. It very well may be a rotary switch or a pot the OP would have to show us some gut shots or schems to be sure. Could you use it in all areas between the spots where it would hold? I've never owned a DD-2 but it doesn't make alot of sense to me that you could put the knob any where between modes, which is what led me to believe it was a switch. Also many rotary switches are going to be too large to fit in your pedal. I think you should contact Roland/Boss. They were always very good when I had to deal with them. Even shipping me a switch for free one time.
