Hi Everyone

I'm new to this site, so I don't know if I'm breaking any unwritten rules by posting a question without having answered anyone myself; in that case, just ".com slap" me, and tell me how to do stuff right..

But, here goes:

I just got a couple of new pedals, and am therefore going to re-design my board; but how to put 'em and so on, seems to be a little more difficult than I first expected - this is why I'd like your help.

My line-up are:

Boss TU-2

T-Rex CompNova

Boss CE-1

Boss SD-1

Xotic AC Booster

EMMA ReezaFRATzitz

Ibanez PT-9

Ibanez FL-9

Ernie Ball Volume-pedal

Boss DM-2

Boss HR-2

I've got a looper or two on lay-away a couple of places, so it would be possible to integrate a 5x-looper system (TBP) if that would make my life easier.

I'm thinking in lines of being able to punch in i.e. the harmonizer and a distortion-unit at the same time for "instant 80'ies" and stuff like that; maybe to get som of the inactive tone-sucking units out of the effect-chain...?

I got an idea myself, well actually a few, which are posted below:

Everything in a single chain

A1)

Tuner -> Compressor

Well.. I'm asking if you guys would throw it in a looper-system, or just leavy it be like in A1 / A2...

@Picklebottom:

Yeah, actually I do... Actually I can't live without my phaser/flanger/delay ... 'n stuff.

But you think, that a True Bypass looper (with 5 loops) would do the trick?

Which pedals sucks the most tone?

I would try the phaser following the tuner and also experiment bu putting the compresssor after the overdrive/distortion. I would manke the olume pedal the last in line so that you can vary the amount of signal going to the amp without changeing the level of signal going to effects. All of the Boss and Ibanez pedals are not true bypass. You might experiment putting these in loops.

The keywords here are "try" and "experiment." Although there are some basiic guidelines for pedal placement in a chain, nothing beats trying and listening. For example, I have some fuzzes that sound best before wah and others that sound better after. The only way to determine this is to experiement.

The Keeley site has some good guidelines to get started: Ordering Effects .

Have fun!
