Members gambit
i just bought a Rocktron DC 'on tap' supply that has about 1600ma and all the necessary adapters for different size and polarity pedals. i'm also using my pedalboard (big warwick one) that has 5 or 6 power outputs on it. i've been told by someone else that the warwick board isn't that great because of hum/noise issues caused voltage fluctuations or something. anyway, he recommended a DC 'brick'.. presumably the Dunlop one? Dunlop Brick So i basically just want to find out whats the best to get.. are the trade offs in price acceptable? how does inconsistent voltage supply affect your average pedal anyway?! Members Wilbo26
The DC Brick is just a daisy chain in a box with independent plugs for each pedal instead of a chain of plugs, which is handy, but really isn't going to filter out very much noise coming from the line. If you're worried about that, what you need is the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2. Its a regulated power supply and will help with line noise issues you might have at a gig, but even it isn't guaranteed to cut it out completely in all situations. Members Andre XXX
I have owned a daisy chain one spot, a pedal power two and and now a dc pwer brick. The one spot was noisy with some effects and a little glitchy here and there. Both the Power Brick and Pedal Power are silent and work great....I sold my PP2 on ebay because it's a bit large. The dc brick is small and I have it mounted underneath my board. It's as silent as the PP2 just smaller. I also like the three additional 18 volt outlets on the DC brick.... I power my fulltone OCD, Slash wah with 18 volts..........and everything else with the 9volt outlets...
Members Fast Frets
I have one board powered by a PP1 and a PP2, and a smaller board powered by a DC Brick. No noise issues on either one. I like the Brick's ability to power 3 pedals at 18v (without using two outs). I am using 18v on FDII Mosfet and an OCD. They both really llike the 18v. :)

Members SpectralJulian
I fail to see the usefulness of a brick, because I need a powerstrip on my board for my 40V Frequency Analyzer anyways, and hopefully in a month a 24V polyphase. Members Fast Frets
The PP2 has a separate 3-prong outlet. Power strips take a lot of space if mounted on the board. Some people feel that having the power strip of the board is inconvenient for frequent setups and take-downs. YMMV :) :)
