Members matt struct
I'm looking for a distortion box for my son. He likes alot of the "post-hardcore" or "screamo" bands like Chiodos, From First to Last and The Used, so I want to get something that will handle this type of sound. I can't find much info on the gear these guys use and sound clips on the various sites aren't very helpful. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Members hbar
I know jack about those bands, but if you're not on a boutique budget, I'd start with a boss DS1 or Metal Zone. Well, even if you're are on a boutique budget, I'd probably start there.

Members waveman
Rocktron Metal Planet or Digitech Metal Master. Metal Planet is the better one. I haven't tried the Boss Metalzone, but I am sure that one will fit the bill as well
Members Mister Crowley
I'm familiar with all those bands, I'd recommend a Keeley modded Metal Zone Pedal. They're $150 straight from his website http://www.robertkeeley.com/ . Much better sounding and with three modes way more versatile than a stock Metal Zone. Even though I use amp distortion now I still have my Keeley Metal Zone and use it on occasion.

Members GIR unit
You just cannot take the fake sound out of Boss distortions. Get a Keeley Rat.
