Members jwschmidt
Ok, this isn't a very specific question, more of a "what would you do" sorta thing. I'm looking to get as much overdrive as I can out of my les paul ---> sparkle drive ----> Fender Twin as possible without sounding too "buzzy". I know, I know, a twin is a clean amp with too much headroom for a good distorted sound, I know. BUT, that's what we're dealing with here. more specifically... I'm not sure I'm making great use of the clean knob on the pedal. One thing I've considered doing is cranking both the clean and drive knobs, then running it through an additional drive pedal - I'm looking into different boutique models that lean towards a more fuzzy distortion. Any ideas?
Members fuzzface71
Sell that damn thing and get a Tonebone Classic pedal. It think that's the tone you're trying to get.
Members Rob Eadgbe
In my expirience boosting the clean on the Sparkledrive really takes away from the gain. I just add a little bit of clean to give it some body. You're way better off just getting a higher gain pedal and using the SD as a lead boost. I've used it both pre and post distortion with some sucess.
