Members tommy_is_here
hey gang, so I have lots of pedals now, and need to get organized for an upcoming show. I have never giged, but figure a pedal baord would be a really nice thing. What are some cheap, but good solutions. (I plan on getting voodoo labs pedal power, so no need for power) Thanks,Tommy

Members Jeremy Skrenes
Rondo music makes a pretty decent pedal board for $40. It's nothing that would last long on the road, but for occasional gigging, it should hold up fine.

Members FDZ
Build your own. Wooden mortar case from the army disposals store, $5. Foam padding, $5. Square of carpet, $5. New hinges and latches, $5. Mine is tough enough to jump up and down on, and looks far more rock than anything you can buy in a store. The only downside is I'll never be let anywhere near a plane with an ammo crate full of electronics.

Members i51423
Briefcase - $3 Velcro - $8 Wood - $8 Latches - $3 $22 total. I've since aquired some more pedals, but you get the idea. There are three braces under the second layer. It holds up to stomps just fine. It took me an hour or so to build. I haven't gigged with it yet, but it will most certainly hold up. My pedalboard is nicely contained and portable. I wish I had made the second layer a bit higher, though.I messed up my measurements and the Muff just doesn't fit under it. I'll be rehousing that bastard anyway.
Members FDZ
$22 total. It's so easy to build a serviceable (at the very least) board for a handful of spare change, I just can't help but giggle when I think about the people who fork out for something like this. Yea, man. It's just not worth it, in my opinion. I'm also a cheap ass.
Members tommy_is_here
I like these handmade pedal boards. Really cool guys, and inspriring; I will give it a go. So, for construction schematics: briefcasevelcroslats But why do pedal boards need slats. I mean, can't you mount the pedals directly onto the ground/top of a briefcase? Never really understoof why everything is always raised...
Members L6Sguy
for serious (bigger) touring applications, something PedalPad or similar is money well-spent. for the average Joe, a guy doing all/most of his gigging within the same area code, its overkill. the EH is a great lil setup, imho. leaves me completely unGASsing for anything else. Raising the back row of pedals makes them a lot easier to stomp, you can use the ball of your foot instead of your toe.
Members bloodyfingers
http://cgi.ebay.com/PEDAL-BOARD-ROAD-CASE-ALL-IN-ONE-NEW-23x13x5_W0QQitemZ250053408934QQihZ015QQcategoryZ41412QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I bought one of these over a year ago ( the 29" version). It's holding up nicely. All it needs is another handle and some rubber feet on the bottom. I also built a 2nd tier, tucked the power supply under it and I've got 15 pedals on there. Mine was $40 and I picked it from them, so no shipping. It's very solid for such light wood.
Members Midrange
A plus on the briefcase if ou want something easy to transport. Not too much room, but you can make it work. I liked mine this way for a while.
Members NITEFLY182
The pedaltrain boards with bags are pretty nice for around $100. Not super cheap, but super reliable.

Members GRINGO_LOCO
I know you're looking for a BIG board, but in case someone is looking for a cheap smaller one, look at THIS THREAD. GRINGO
Members Deadite99
Depends on how many pedals you have but this paintball bag works for me.$18 A little velcro and your good to go.
Members comfortablynumb
I built my last pedalboard from a shelf off of a cheap TV stand. I Just put some velcro on it and a riser that I had made for a previous board. It looks nice, it's light and it gets the job done. I just need to find a case for it. Please tell me that's not a Rocktek Distortion! How can you like that thing!? That was my first effects pedal. I still have it, collecting dust. Funny to see I'm not the only one with that thing:D
Members freeridstylee
I found a really tall old bass (maybe?) case with no innards for 20 bucks. Works great for my bigger pedals (snarling dogs/visual sound/eh) lets me put all 8 pedals on the front row, and has room to store all my guitar cords to take to the show. If you don't have many tall pedals, look for an old used guitar case. Get some latches and velcro from home depot, get rid of the hinges, pop the top and your good to go. I made mine with no latches on the bottom (cuz i don't want to have to step around the things) 2 latches on the sides, and 2 on top. works ou well.
