Members Happy_Thom
My brother has been asking me about pedals for his bass. I showed him compression for bass in cubase and hes quite taken by it. So the question is can anyone point us in the direction of a good one under say
Members MrMunky
You may wish to consider a Yamaha Magicstomp (v. 2.10, the Bass Magicstomp or the Acoustic Magicstomp will do - they're the same) In addition to having a full featured bass preamp with an excellent compressor, and a separate very nice compressor, it has a full on dynamics processor with a compressor, exciter and limiter. It does a bunch of other things, but its probably worth it for that alone.
Members Gypsyfan
Barge Concepts RC-2 with bass mod switch. It's awesome and really quiet. I think the switch can take you down to 30 hz.
Members Headlow
A bass player I know uses a HBE Comp Retro, and it does the job very nicely indeed!
Members GuyaGuy
my bassist friend quite likes the alesis nano compressor mini ractk unit, which also has a gate to prevent unwnated noise, which can be a problm with some pedals. Members bassplayinguy
Im debating whether to get a BBE opto Comp or the Aphex Punch factory... both seem to work very well with bass

Members edeltorus
Boss Bass LMB-3 Great sounding compressor. Very flexible. The enhancer is ok. Nice to enhance finger sounds and for slapping. I bought one for my girlfriend as a birthday present, and it even sounds *VERY* good as a guitar-compressor. The BBE is much more robustly constructed and sounds great. The Aphex has a compression 'gauge' and a DI (that can accept phantom power). Unfortunately, the 1/4" jacks are not panel mounted and are just soldered to the PCB and exposed through the side of the unit. They both sound equally good, although ever so slightly different. I can see your dilemma.
