Interested in LovePedal Karl Fuzz...Anyone have it?

I'm really interested in ordering this pedal, and from listening to the sound clips on Sean's website I think it sounds pretty sick. I'm basically looking for a standard fuzz with its own unique, I dunno, "voice". The only thing that sway me away from the Karl is it's Ring Mod capabilities. Although I think the ring mod stuff sounds awesome too, but I want to be able to just use it for fuzz only as well. For those who have the Karl or have used it, can it do regular fuzz tones without the Ring Mod maddness? I mean in terms of adjusting the settings of the pedal where all you get is fuzz and nothing else.

Other fuzz pedals I'm interested in is the ToneFactor Huckleberry, MJM London Fuzz (or 2), and the Skreddy Mayo. If you have any experience info on these that would be great too.

I've owned a Mayo and a Karl. They're absolutely nothing alike. Not at all.

The Mayo is a Muff, pure and simple. And it's the nicest one I've played. The Karl is.... something else all together. Definitely a unique voice in the world of fuzzes. The ring mod-ish tones depend a lot on not just how you dial it in, but also how you play it. Up higher on the neck with lots of bends and double stops will get some of the weirder qualities of the pedal to come out of hiding.

I also really enjoyed pushing the Mayo with the Karl. It was very much like combining the two... Huge sounding.

I just got the Karl.

So far it's my favorite fuzz I've had.

Tone is thick, bass is tigher than a Muff, gain is about a muff, a bit clearer on the highs. Doesn't do the clean up trick - sounds gated when you do.

I've had or have FuzzFactory, DAM Ram Head, BYOC Muff, Black Russian Muff, McFuzz.

So far I'm liking the Karl the best.

It's all in the way you play it. You can play the thing and have no ghost notes come out and with the same settings, you can get the ghost notes to jump at your command. It takes some getting used to. The intensity knob will also help control or pronounce the ghost notes.

I like mine a lot. It is it's own thing. Not quite and octavia pedal but has a feel and sound of it's own that is unique. :thu:
