I had to cover it at a a friend's party a few months ago, and I got my DD-6 to do a reasonably decent job of it.

So the DD-6 will self-oscillate?

I've read a few comments from people saying they don't really care for the ML's self-oscillation, but I think it sounds wonderful. We used mine for a couple of songs on an album I just finished, and the guitarist, the band and I all thought it turned out really well. Yes, it's not the least expensive delay pedal around, but it is a true analog delay with dry and effect ("stereo") outputs, modulation, tap tempo, insert / exp pedal jack (can be wired for other things) and about 550 ms of delay time... oh, and it sounds killer and is built like a tank too. I absolutely love mine - one of the best pedal purchases I've ever made.

I don't know what they used on that track, but if it was an AMS DMX 15-80, then it isn't the type of thing most guitarists would own or use in a live rig... unless they're Gilmour or someone like that. It's a large, rather expensive studio rackmount unit.

It was an AMS in the studio, yes. I don't which particular pedal they use live, but when I saw them it sounded pretty close. Ed has a whole bunch of delays in his live rig, there's an Akai E1, at least one DL-4 and an RV-3 and four DD-6s (ouch!). Johnny has the Space Echo, two E1s and an RV-3. They've most likely got even more stuff on the latest tour too.

Edit: Ok, so in

video of the Glastonbury version its Ed playing with the DL-4 making the crazy noise.
