Members strat6866
I was wondering if anyone has an opinion about using a Line 6 POD with a fender tube amp.Does it tend to kill the tube tone and make it sound too digital or does it retain the tone, merely adding the effects?Any help would be appreciated! Members fearofnightmare
I say try it?Most that do this don't like it, though there are exceptions. The guitarist from the Faint used to run a Pod XT Live through a Fender Twin. But he said that even though he could do cool {censored} like MIDI sync tremolo to parts of songs, in the end, it sounded too cold and digital for him.Justin from Jesu uses an XT Live, too - at one point he ran it through a Sunn Model T! I've read interviews with him where he says that he loves the XT like a fat kid loves cake.So...try it and see if you like it. Just get it somewhere you can return it if you don't. Members butterknucket
I played with a guy who played a POD into the front end of a JC120 and it didn't sound right at all.
Members spinedriver
I just bought an XT Live last week and even though I couldn't really afford it, in the long run it'll save me a lot of hassle of buying several pedals I'd just end up selling after a couple of months anyway. Best thing I've ever bought. Awesome recording features & tones (that you can hook up to a pc and not have to mic a stack in a sound proof room) then you can take those same tones and use 'em live.
