SCOD anyone?

If it requires a good distorted sound, than I would say yes!

I know that answer sucked, the SCOD has got to be the funnest pedal I have used in almost 40 years of playing, the cascading design is truly "touch sensitive" and if my house was on fire and I had a chance to grab it on my way to the door......I would

It's tight, focused and has endless sustain

i hate all three types listed..

sounds like it would do me well

so that leaves the questions..

SCOD vs Rat II w/ keeley mod..?

I knwo they are two different beasts but.. if you had to choose for a 90's alt rock band which one..?

I've never used a SCOD but the Keeley Rat is a one trick pony, despite the mode switch. Who knows, maybe 90's alternative is its one trick (a definition of 90's alternative would be nice, are we talking Oasys? Radiohead? Pop years Nirvana?), it's to fuzzy for me personally.

The Keeley Rat is very versatile and can be used as a distortion and an OD.:)

Ha, thats funny! +1

So mr "C"

Should I buy one of your pedals over a Mod'd RatII?

I've been fond of your work for some time now, and have been meaning to get somthing, with that whole ordeal with the Trem..

And a quick question.. Is the cover of the SCOD leather/pleather? It does not look like a normal cover..?

The SCOD is a fantastic pedal: an insta-Clutch dirtpile - although I still use an old whiteface RAT, the SCOD receives far more usage as the go-to distortion/OD.

cheers!

I love Clutch. I want to go to MD visit my greatgrandfather (still alive and independant!) and spend a day with Clutch.

Every SCOD reminds me of a few things, not because of the sound but because of additude.

1.) Ween's "I'll Be Your Johnny On The Spot"

"got a chevy with a mopar cam" which I change to "got a mopar with an RV cam"

2.) Clutch's "Spacegrass"

3.) I'd rather be out driving my lead sled.

Early Catalinbread were covered in a marine vinyl. It was impossible to work with. So I stopped it. If you find a vinyl covered SCOD we only made 20 like it. It certainly needs a circuit update.

I can't do pedal recomendations. Biased oppinion, obviously. ;) Thing to do is email Tonefactor or Axeandyoushallreceive. Tell them the sounds you are aiming for they will point you in the right direction even if that means a different brand! Either way I am happy as long as you're getting the sounds you want.

Good sound clips thanks to Cal and thanks to Stevo (who owes me a return phone call incidentally).

Thanks man. I appreciate the support.
