Members Kermit
I've been thinking a lot about getting a distortion pedal. After searching the market and comparing it to my budget, I've more or less decided on the Proco Rat. However, a Rat isn't just a Rat apparently. I looked at the Proco site and the Rat2 was my initial choice, but then I remembered that the old ones were "better sounding"(more overdrive/distortion than fuzz/distortion) according to a lot of people. They made a Vintage Rat from 1991-2005. Now, my question is: What's the difference between the two besides the look?

Members Tonemeister87
Kermit, I'm in the same boat man. I'm making a jazz/blues/rock rig atm w/ a single channel amp and need a great dist. pedal. I'm pretty much settled on the Keeley Rat. Check it out here

Members Cliff Fiscal
The Keeley rat is the only way to go......it's worth the extra cash. If anything find a cheapo rat and send it in yourself.
