Members loofery
These albums are beautiful. It makes me sad that a lot of you guys have never heard them and are not going to listen and they are going to fade into obscurity in a few decades. Do yourself a favor and download Daydream or I Can't Live Without You or Ballerina.

Members MrMunky
People haven't heard of Robin Trower? Don't get my wrong, I'm well aware that some people don't know Trower. But I figured those were the same people who have never heard of Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin or Dire Straits or Pink Floyd or The Shadows or The Ventures, etc. I tend to think that those people are beyond help if they're over age 14 or so. I've never heard of the Shadows It's interesting what of the golden age of music is being listened to by the kids today who say they like classic rock. Mostly Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Floyd My concern is that when people who grew up before the 90s die, {censored}s gonna fade so fast, unless we get mainstream guitarists who reference their influences (ie SRV telling everyone about all the old blues guys made them famous again)
Members capnbringdown
Trower is a good guitarist, and I don't think he's going to become obscure, but if you're wanting him to be a household name, that will probably never happen. And if it would have happened, it already would've happened with Bridge of Sighs. But that's like being pissed because not everyone knows who Jeff Beck is. Also, just that it has to be said, but check out Procol Harum. He certainly isn't the center of the band, but I always loved some of the stuff he did in there. Now there's a band that would've probably be doomed to obscurity, if it wasn't for whiter shade of pale of course.

I can understand how Beck didn't make it - he certainly wasn't very conventional after he broke up his group with Stewart. But there's plenty of guys who fit in with the classic rock format and aren't revered today like they should be. Love Procol Harum, they're so much better than Whiter Shade of Pale too, shame shame, wish I owned a radio station and played what I want.
Members NoirAbattoir
I know of him, but never really listened to the stuff. I am listening now. Flight of the Eagle, or something. Hmmm... Not really grabbing me so far.

Members MrMunky
Nowadays I'm happy when there's someone in his 20s or younger who likes any classic rock. Even if you only like "Stairway to Heaven" you're unique.

Well, I always thought Beck's work in the yardbirds was his standout work, but I guess since he's not really a singer, people never really got know him. I can think of plenty of artists who aren't played on the radio, but the state of radio kind of sucks these days. I wish they would play full albums like they used to, though occasionly I've heard some good {censored} on the radio. Surprisingly enough, I've even heard Trower on the radio. It was Too Rolling Stoned, and I'm surprised they could get away with that on the radio considering they couldn't even play Blackfoot in the afternoon. My old boss basically forced me to borrow a bunch of robin trower. I listened to it. Here's the thing. I listened to it all more than once, and i dont remember anything about it at all... which tells me that i was unimpressed. I for one, wish that rock and roll wasnt so subject to the spector of it's past. AND SRV... come on... No one gave a {censored} about that guy until after he died. Maybe some hard core blues fans, and musicians did, but largely the public didnt know who he was. So if someone gets famous recycling robin trower, and causes people to take a second look, great. in that case maybe the material merits it. I'm not putting out an APB to save the legacy of every successful musician who has ever lived.

Jeff Beck is the guy who started intrumental masturbatory guitar rock. Listening to this kind of music is educational, NOT entertaining... kind of like when I was a kid they took us on a field trip to see the symphony. His {censored} wasn't mainstream-likeable so much after he left the Yardbirds or alternatively after Truth, maybe Beck-Ola.
