Which effects are better suited to effects loop?

Hey everyone im finally re-building my board up, and ive always wondered which effects are best placed in the effects loop instead of direct into the amp.

 

My search didnt really reveal much except for correct order of the effects but the main ones im wondering about are

- Wah

- Whammy Pedal

- and my Line 6 MM4 and DL4

 

Straight into my amp im running my compressor, ts-9 and big muff.

Wah before dirt sounds like a wah, wah after dirt sounds like a monster. I for one am quite partial to the occasional monster.

Conventional wisdom is to slap delay in the loop too, but if you're playing with oscillation you may want to try it before the dirt.

assuming that the effects loop is after your amp's pre-amp stage.. placing effects in the loop would mean it receives already-overdriven signal.. match to your taste.

i have my wah in front of amp, and my chorus and delay in the loop, for instance.
