Members angelhair0
Monte Allums has the regular mod kit, and the SD808 Mod Plus kit. Keely and Analog Man do some pretty interesting mods but I am not looking to send mine in and get it done. I'd rather order a mod kit and do something simple, just to improve the tone and the low end this pedal tends to suck out. Anyone know of any others? Can't seem to find any. How is it different, and how difficult was it? I have one and find it to be a little harsh. Plus it's next to worthless as a boost.

Plus it's next to worthless as a boost. it was switching out 9 caps, 4 resistors, 3 diodes and the chip. You actually do all the things listed in GRINGOS scheme and then upgrade other parts as well. when I first modified my SD-1 it was alittle harsh. the only thing i hadn't changed were the two resistors (the 10k, and the 100 ohm). I got bored and wasn't too impressed so i decided to swap in th two resistors, then i was blown away. the pedal became very responsive to the guitar. each guitar had it's own sound when run through the pedal. the gain was now smooth and warm sounding. it really is amazing how good it sounds. it works well as a booster, atleast for me. plenty of volume when the drive is on zero.
