Members Cliff Fiscal
That thing sucks. It removes most of the low end. Any tips or ideas? I've already considered running it over.

Members Ronzo II
Monte Allums' Opto Mod. Makes the CS-3 not just usable, but good. I owned one for three years and hated it; did the mod, and now I use it all the time.Link to the Monte Allums Opto Mod Kit
Members CapnMarvel
I think the adage about polishing a turd applies here. The CE-5 is the worst major-label chorus I've ever had.

No need to be. The box is worthless to you as it is, right? It's an easy mod. Get some magnifying reading glasses from the drugstore (1.5x to 2x), or borrow a pair from an old fart like me, so you can see what you're doing on the small PC board. Work slowly, and follow his instructions to the letter. Use a small wattage iron with a small tip, not a huge soldering gun. 2 hours from now, you'll have a pretty damned good compressor that you can actually USE.If you're set up to do it. record a clip before you start, then record the same licks after you're done. You'll be amazed at the difference.
Members NoDakStratblast
I've had one for years, it's been in and out of my rig, currently in. It works okay on clean tones, but it is very bright and there is a low-end drop. The tone control must be run below about 10 o'clock for it to work for me. Yeah, there are many other good compressors out there, and I'm sure when my Ibanez comp is up and running again I'll have that in my chain, but until then it's just a matter of using your ear to get what you need, that's all. Members Astatine
Hehe, i used to use it with all controls on full either before or after a distortion pedal to get JAMC style feedback howls.
