Hey everybody I may be getting a Mesa/Boogie Studio .22 soon and I need a foot switch to switch channels. Can I buy pretty much any foot switch to do this or do I have to look a specific one?

I was thinking maybe this foot switch its small and has a LED light and its cheap.

Do you think it would work with a Studio .22

I don't need it to do stuff like turn reverb on/off I just need it to switch between two channels. I thought thats what all single switch foot switches did, but I guess I'm wrong  I just don't want to pull the trigger on an old Mesa foot switch (a little to pricey)

it depends. what functions of the amp are capable of being "footswitched?"

If it is channel and reverb, then there is a stereo jack on the original, factory switch and on the jack on the amp itself.

The tip of the jack controls the channel switching and the sleeve would control the reverb.

So, if the only function the switch is originally intended for is channel switching, then I would think that any switch would work just fine. Otherwise, you might end up switching only the reverb instead of the channel if the tip/sleeve were in reverse order.

I think i have this right.....

Alright makes sense and yeah Studio .22s where intended for channel switching only. There is a input jack on the front of the amp that is labeled simply footswitch. So i though that any Footswitch with a single button and 1/4 jack would work. I've heard that single fender foot switches work so I thought that one should to.
