What do you use for a buffer?

I used to have various dedicated buffer units sedond in line (right after the wah, which is placed first in line to be used as the main input point) - anything from a TS-9 to a t.c. preamp and a home-built IC-based buffer unit has figured in that role. Lately, though, I've been using a Korg DT-10 tuner in that position, and it works just as well as the dedicated buffer/preamp units did...

Doobtone MicroBuffer 2 third in line after wah and Q-tron.
I don't think it makes a lick of difference. I have other buffered pedals on my board as well (TU-2 and DD-3) so maybe the buffer is pointless. Iam thinking about removing it so I can use the power outlet.

The Tone Press I just got seems to to the best job for spicing up my tone and I pretty much leave it on all the time now.

It's probably the best buffer on the market, outside of the Cornish crap which is way overpriced.

VS also sold the buffer as a separate pedal, but it's very difficult to find.

could be :D

like mentioned, i compared guitar>amp VS guitar>pedals>amp and found no audible difference at cranked 'bedroom' volumes, imho. ymmv :)
